Trent Callahan is a digital photographer, collagist, and illustrator whose works concern themselves with technology, nature and how our innate desire to self-express interacts and conflicts with our increasingly structured, ever-digitizing way of life.
Like many children raised amid the online revolution and the growing mental-health crisis, Trent spent their childhood feeling a deep disconnection from the world and found their escape through the screen.
The screen is a powerful tool capable of things we never thought possible, connecting humanity to an unprecedented level, and laying bare how different each person on this planet is, and the ugliness and beauty in all forms of self-expression.
Trent believes that what makes art great is the opportunity it gives us to express something in ourselves deeper than words alone can convey, and that loyalty to structure and convention is the killer of creative spirit. They have decided that to keep their creative spirit alive, they’re just going to do whatever they want, success be damned.
