I like to capture the beauty of natural objects. The variation in pieces is what makes my work unique, no two pieces are the same.
The introduction of the twine illustrates how the natural world is connected to all that is made. Just like a root system or a mycelium network, a mycelium network is made up of millions of ‘threads’ that can span across kilometres, all with the same origin and in turn connects individual plants together to transfer water, nitrogen, carbon, and other minerals. Fungi were here long before us and will not only be here long after us but will be the catalysts in our decomposition and become food for the network.
